Negotiating
Negotiating occurs when two or more parties come to terms on an agreement. All parties often engage in “give and take”, making compromises until the group reaches an arrangement with which everyone is satisfied. The parties often have conflicting goals, making compromise necessary to facilitate an agreement from which everyone benefits. Negotiation is most effective when an agreement leaves all parties significantly better than without the agreement.
Everyone can benefit from learning how to negotiate. Business owners in particular benefit from gaining negotiation skills, as agreements with customers, suppliers, employees and partners largely determine whether or not and just how much money a business can make. In fact, good negotiation skills are often what close sales.
